Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) was one of the most famous American poets of his day.

Longfellow is well known for his lyric poems, noted for their musicality.

The present text is a part of Longfellow's poem of the same name.

ভাবানুবাদঃ- শীতের শেষে সূর্য যখন তাঁর উত্তাপ নিয়ে ফিরে এসেছে তখন বীজ-বপন আর ফসল সংগ্রহের সময় আবার ফিরে এসেছে। নিথর বনভূমি হল বেড়ানোর মনোরম স্থান,
যেখানে ফুটে ওঠে সমভূমির প্রথম ফুল।

এই ঋতুটাকে আমি বড়োই ভালোবাসি
When forest glades are teeming with bright forms,
যখন বনবীথি ভিড় করে বেড়ে ওঠায় উজ্জ্বল,
Nor dark and many-folded clouds foretell
কালো আর ঘনীভূত মেঘ ঘোষণা করে না।

ভাবানুবাদঃ- এই ঋতুটাকে আমি বড়োই ভালোবাসি,
এই ঋতুতেই বনবীথি পাশাপাশি ভিড় করে বেড়ে ওঠায় চারিদিক উজ্জ্বল হয়ে ওঠে,
তবে কালো আর ঘনীভূত মেঘ ঝড়ের আগমন বার্তা ঘোষণা করে না।

পৃথিবীর নরম ঝুরঝুরে মাটি থেকে
The sapling draws its sustenance, and thrives
চারাগাছ তার পুষ্টিরস সংগ্রহ করে,
আর তরতরিয়ে বাড়ে
Though stricken to the heart with winter's cold,
যদিও শীতকালের ঠান্ডায় হ্রদয়ে ব্যথা পায়,
The drooping tree revives.
নেতিয়ে পড়া গাছ চাঙ্গা হয়ে যায়।

ভাবানুবাদঃ- এই মাসেই পৃথিবীর নরম ঝুরঝুরে মাটি থেকে চারাগাছ তার পুষ্টিরস টেনে নেয়,
আর তরতরিয়ে বাড়ে যদিও শীতকালের ঠান্ডায় গাছেরা হ্রদয়ে ব্যথা পায়,
তবু নেতিয়ে পড়া গাছরা সতেজ হয়ে ওঠে।
The softly-warbled song
নরম মিষ্টি সুরের কাঁপা কাঁপা গান
Comes from the pleasant woods, and coloured wings
আসে ভেসে মনোরম বনভূমি থেকে,
আর রঙিন ডানাগুলি
Glance quick in the bright sun, that moves along
উজ্জ্বল রোদে দ্রুত একঝলক দেখা দিয়ে এগিয়ে যায়

ভাবানুবাদঃ- এপ্রিল মাসের মৃদুমন্দ বাতাসে নরম মিষ্টি সুরের কাঁপা কাঁপা মনোরম গান বনভুমি থেকে ভেসে আসে,
আর পাখি ও পতঙ্গেরা রঙিন ডানাগুলি উজ্জ্বল রোদে দ্রুত একঝলক দেখা দিয়ে বনভূমির খোলা জায়গা ধরে এগিয়ে যায় ।
When the bright sunset fills
উজ্জ্বল সূর্যাস্ত যখন ভরিয়ে তোলে
The silver woods with light, the green slope throws
আলো দিয়ে বুপোলি বনভূমি,
সবুজ ঢাল বিছিয়ে দেয়
Its shadows in the hollows of the hill,
এর ছায়া পাহাড়ের উপতাকাগুলিতে,
And wide the upland glows.
আর পাহাড়ি দীপ্তি ছড়িয়ে দেয়।

ভাবানুবাদঃ- উজ্জ্বল সূর্যাস্ত যখন আলো দিয়ে বুপোলি বনভূমি ভরিয়ে তোলে,
তখন সবুজ ঢাল তাদের ছায়া পাহাড়ের উপতাকাগুলিতে বিছিয়ে দেয় আর পাহাড়ি দীপ্তি ছড়িয়ে দেয়।

In winter, trees shed

blowing in spring. Only mild west wind blows during this season, Rose blooms in

dresses are not needed any longer Basking in the sun is no longer enjoyable.
Still spring more lively than winter. In this season, the cuckoo sings to
infuse life in nature.
