King Arthur accepted the
enchanted sword from the mysterious hand appearing from the depths of the lake.
হ্রদের নীচ থেকে উঠে আসা রহস্যময় হাত থেকে সেই মন্ত্রপূত তরবারি রাজা আর্থার
তুলে নিলেন।
“I shall never use this
magic sword for any personal benefit,” King Arthur declared.

Imagine you are Merlin, the
wise counsellor to King Arthur. Write a paragraph in about eighty words on the
advices you would have given the king in his times of trouble.

Britain is now in the grip of Lawlessness. The common people are helpless. They
are Ill-treated by dishonest knights. Weak people are tortured. There is none
to stand by them. To end this you have to take initiative. You have to punish
those torturers. You should declare an all-out war against them. Unless you
punish them, the common people will not get relief Lawless situation will go on
unabated. You must stop this. The people of England now want a saviour. You
should fulfil their demand Form a team of loyal knights. They will help you in
the regard.
রাজা আর্থার, ব্রিটেন এখন অরাজকতার মধ্যে পড়েছে। সাধারণ মানুষ অসহায়। অসৎ নাইটরা
তাদের সঙ্গে খারাপ ব্যবহার করে। দুর্বল লোকরা অত্যাচারিত
হচ্ছে। তাদের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর কেউ নেই। এর অবসান করতে আপনাকে উদ্যোগ নিতে হবে।
আপনাকে ওই সব অত্যাচারীদের শাস্তি দিতে হবে। আপনার তাদের বিরুদ্ধে সর্বাত্মক যুদ্ধ
ঘোষণা করা উচিত। তারা যদি শাস্তি না পায় তাহলে সাধারণ মানুষ স্বস্তি পাবে না।
অরাজক পরিস্থিতি অপ্রতিহতভাবে চলতে থাকবে। আপনাকে অবশ্যই এটা বন্ধ করতে হবে।
ইংল্যান্ডের মানুষ এখন একজন ত্রাতা চায়। আপনাকে তাদের চাহিদা মেটাতে হবে। অনুগত

following passage:
Long ago during the reign of
Khalifa Haroon-ul-Rashid, there lived a businessman called Ali.
বহুদিন আগে খলিফা হারুন-উল-রশিদের আমলে আলি নামে একজন ব্যবসায়ী বাঙ্গ করতেন।
One day Ali went on a
pilgrimage.
একদিন আলি তীর্থযাত্রায় গেলেন।
He had five hundred gold
coins which he put in a jar and filled the jar with oil.
তাঁর পাঁচশো স্বর্ণমুদ্রা ছিল যেগুলো তিনি একটা পাত্রে রেখে পাত্রটা তেল দিয়ে
ভরতি করে দিলেন।
All left the jar with his
neighbour Abdul.
আলি পাত্রটা তাঁর প্রতিবেশী আব্দুলের কাছে রেখে গেলেন।
While Ali was away, one day,
Abdul ran out of cooking oil in his house.
যখন আলি চলে গিয়েছিলেন, একদিন, আবদুলের বাড়িতে রান্নার তেল ফুরিয়ে গিয়েছিল।
He took out some oil from
Ali's jar.
তিনি আলির পাত্র থেকে খানিকটা তেল বের করে নিয়েছিলেন।
As Abdul was pouring the oil
several gold coins fell out from the jar.
আবদুল যখন তেল ঢালছিলেন তখন কয়েকটা সোনার মুদ্রা পাত্র থেকে পড়ে গিয়েছিল।
He became greedy.
তিনি লোভী হয়ে পড়েছিলেন।
Abdul took out all the oil and
the gold coins from Ali's jar.
আলির পাত্র থেকে সব তেল আর সোনার মুদ্রা আবদুল বের করে নিলেন।
Then he replaced the oil in
the jar from an oil-trader.
তারপর তিনি পত্রের তেলটা একজন তেল ব্যবসায়ীর থেকে তেল নিয়ে বদলে দিলেন।
Ali returned several months
later.
আলি কয়েকমাস পর ফিরলেন।
He did not find his coins.
তিনি তাঁর মুদ্রাগুলো দেখতে পেলেন না।
Abdul said he knew nothing
of it.
আবদুল বললেন তিনি এ ব্যাপারে কিছুই জানেন না।
Ali went to the Khalifa.
আলি খলিফার কাছে গেলেন।
Khalifa Haroon-ul-Rashid
heard Ali's complain.
খলিফা হারুন-উল- রশিদ আলির অভিযোগ শুনলেন।
But there was no proof
against Abdul.
কিন্তু আবদুলের বিরুদ্ধে কোনো প্রমাণ নেই।
The Khalifa called an oil
merchant.
খলিফা একজন তেল ব্যবসায়ীকে ডেকে পাঠালেন।
He tasted the oil and said
it was two months old.
তিনি তেল পরীক্ষা করে বললেন এটা দু-মাসের পুরোনো।
Ali had been gone for seven
months.
আলি সাত মাসের জন্য গিয়েছিলেন।
He could not have put that
oil in the jar.
তিনি পাত্রে তেলটা ঢালতে পারেন না।
So, Abdul was caught.
সুতরাং আবদুল ধরা পড়ে গেলেন।
Ali got back his coins.
আলি তাঁর মুদ্রাগুলো ফেরত পেলেন।
Answer: - When
Haroon-ul-Rashid was the Khalifa, All went on a pilgrimage. He entrusted a jar
containing oil and five hundred gold coins to his neighbour. Abdul Being greedy,
Abdul took out all the gold coins and refilled the jar with new oil When Ali
returned after seven months, he did not find his coins. Abdul pleaded innocence
Ali lodged a complaint with the Khalifa. The Khalifa consulted an oil merchant
and discovered that the oil in the jar was only two months old. All was then
away. So, it was proved Abdul was the culprit. Ali got back his coins.
যখন হারুন-উল-রশিদ খলিফা ছিলেন, তখন আলি তীর্থযাত্রায় গিয়েছিলেন। তিনি তেল এবং পাঁচশো সোনার মুদ্রা ভরতি একটা পাত্রের দায়িত্ব তাঁর প্রতিবেশী আবদুলকে দিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। লোভী হয়ে আবদুল সবকটা সোনার মুদ্রা বের করে নিলেন। পাত্রটা নতুন তেল দিয়ে ফের ভরতি করে দিলেন। সাতমাস পর যখন আলি ফিরলেন, তিনি তাঁর মুদ্রাগুলো খুঁজে পেলেন না। আবদুল জানিয়েছিলেন যে তিনি নির্দোষ। আলি খলিফার কাছে অভিযোগ দায়ের করলেন। খলিফা একজন তেল ব্যবসায়ীর পরামর্শ চাইলেন এবং আবিষ্কার করলেন যে পাত্রের তেলটা দু- মাসের পুরোনো। আলি তখন বাইরে ছিলেন। সুতরাং, এটা প্রমাণ হয়ে গেল যে আবদুল দোষী। আলি মুদ্রাগুলো ফেরত পেয়ে গেলেন।
